The Golf Course opened in 1910 as a nine hole challenge. Augie Nordone designed the back nine. The course as we know it today dates from 1922 and was designed by A. W. Tillinghast and Seymour Dunn.
The Country Club of Syracuse Golf Course is a parkland type of course with tree lined and rolling fairways, fairly well bunkered, mostly greenside, and no water hazards. The fairways are both hilly and flat, and they offer some nice views of the surrounding areas. The course measures 6,545 yards from the tips and plays to a par-72.
Blue tees: par-72, 6,545 yards, 71.2 / 122
White tees: par-72, 6,305 yards, 70.0 / 119
Red tees: par-72, 5,852 yards, 73.0 / 120

Did not like that had to walk up long hill to pay. Made tee times but it wasn't written in. Had to walk back down hill to get cart. This was a great private course but they went public and now are trying to go private again. The membership deal they offering is not worth anything as there are too many hidden costs.

My wife and I joined as a family with our three kids and paid an additional fee to include a family range membership for unlimited use of the driving range. They fired their golf pro and then took the preposterous position that our range membership was with the pro and they aren't honoring the agreements. Take your money and play anywhere but Lafayette!
